If I receive billing for medical care, what should I do?

Health Care providers are instructed to send claims to IHP for payment consideration. If you have received a bill for covered/authorized services please contact IHP at 630-942-7950. Some providers issue statements to our members as routine practice. Statements are generally informational and do not require action on your part. Providers may issue members bills for patient responsibility charges such as co-payment, deductibles or non-covered services. If you receive a bill from a provider and are unsure why, please contact a Customer Services Representative at 630-942-7950. You may also mail your question and/or the bill to:

If my HMO is a secondary payor (another medical insurance is paying first) , do I still need to turn in my primary insurance explanation of benefits to IHP?

Yes, claims information from your primary insurance is important in order to allow for accurate coordination of benefits. Forward all explanation of benefits from your primary insurance to:
